Day 25: Lightbulb Moments-#SOL17

I'm a person who needs thinking, processing, and reflection time.  If proposed an idea, I sometimes like to ponder and let it simmer for a bit rather than immediately answering.  After letting multiple thoughts and ideas simmer, I will find my moments of clarity, which I like to call my lightbulb moments. These lightbulb moments provide the spark to get ideas moving forward.

Do all of my lightbulb moments come to fruition?  No, not always.  Those moments get written down so they won't be forgotten, because sometimes they will support or jump start the next lightbulb moment.  This is where ideas are curated.  It's amazing when you are able to synthesize multiple pieces of thoughts or ideas and make all the dots connect.

How do your ideas come to light?

  1. Love your question! I try to practice what I tell my students to do! I reflect on my day and think about what made me happy, smile, sad, funny, and jot down an idea or two. I try to think and write about the small moments of my life. I also keep a notebook of ideas, thoughts....questions. As cliche as it sounds, the more I write, the easier it is!

  2. Great post! I need to be better about writing my ideas down so that I can later flesh them out. I always find myself coming up with an idea and thinking that it will be so great when I have time to write about it... only to forget it 20 minutes later. I get a lot of ideas while in the shower and while I'm driving, so I've yet to find good ways around this issue!

  3. It's so important to take some time to reflect. Thanks for this peak into your thinking. I bet you're constantly tweaking things to make them better. I work with some people that are very quick decision makers and I drive them crazy!

  4. I feel like I usually have a good idea about what my decision should be, but I allow myself a little time to figure out all the tiny details. I find this usually words. Thanks for this great Slice! I love how you really make the reader think about how your writing connects to them.

  5. My lightbulb moments often happen when I'm driving, so I am so thankful that I can record notes on my phone. I'm always afraid that I'll lose an idea, so this helps tremendously!
